Meeting in Spain, Saturday 25th November

Today we visited the Crane Information Centre in Moheda Alta, we had two former students guiding us, Gabriel and Borja, they did a great job!.We went on a hike through the "dehesa", the typical landscape here in Extremadura, we saw lots of holm-oak trees which produce acorns, the fruit which cranes love most. We have seen lots of cranes but not from close distance because they fly away whenever they see people around and we were a big group. However we also spotted other birds such  as a hoopoe,a flamingo and a marsh harrier among othersInside the centre, we also watched a film about the trip of Göran, a young crane which travelled all the way down from Sweden to our region. We got good information about the cranes, last year the number of cranes reached 120000! Now we have new data of the number of cranes that we will use in the project for the activities of maths. As a dissemination activity, the centre will have a permanent exhibition of our project there during this season.
